Problem Note 36087: NaN (Not a Number) errors when exporting missing detail data from an OLAP-based report to Excel

When viewing detail data for an OLAP-based report, you have the option to export the information. If the detail data contains missing values and you attempt to export the data to Excel, the missing values are treated as NaN (Not a Number) errors in the worksheet.
First, you will see the error message shown below:
The log file referenced in the message will contain the following error:
HTML ERROR in cell value : NaN
In the worksheet, the values will look like this:
There are two suggested workarounds:
- Export the data to a comma-delimited file, for example, and then import that file into Excel.
- Create a user-defined format that replaces the missing values with, for example, 0.
